Ford really hit one out of the park with its “Secretary’s Car,” known officially as the Mustang. The sudden creation of an all-new class of car caught everyone so far off guard that it took years for the competition to catch up. Even The General (GM) took three years to catch up. When they did, they had to modify a prototype 1968 Nova just to get something-anything-on dealer lots and in customer’s driveways.
