This early-model Chevy Caprice convertible came from an era when everyone wanted a big machine to cruise around in. In a way, it was almost like the SUV craze a few years back, but with less exciting vehicles. We might not be the first to ask this, but if you’re going to build an excessive, inefficient passenger vehicle, why not build an excessive, inefficient convertible? Convertibles not only hold their resale value better, but people are more likely to buy one as an “extra” car. And although modern SUV’s are designed to do more practical, manly things, when was the last time you saw a Nissan Murano axle-deep in mud, with a gun rack in the back window and a dead deer strapped to the hood?
