Daily Roddin’: August 8th, 2009
At every car show, you’ll find old guys bitching about them rotten whippersnappers cruising in their fancy little Hondy-cars, with the big exhaust and thumping stereos. Well, we’ve got news for them: this is not only the future of hot rodding, it’s also our passion’s history repeating itself. Taking what you’ve got (or can afford) and making it faster, cooler, and louder. It’s what those same old guys were doing back in the day with used deuce coupes, Bel-Aires, or Dusters. Every generation bought what they could afford on an after-school income, bolted on parts from the junkyard or the back pages of car magazines, and hit the street to see who had the fastest wheels. Even though kids today are more likely to ‘supe up an imported car, it’s hardly different than the way our passion began.
