If you’ve ever had a bad customer experience, you have probably gone through the usual drill-calling complaint lines, writing letters, bitching to friends, et cetera. And where does it get you? Nowhere. Trust a retail escapee-turned-unemployed-blogger, we they just stand around and complain about you as soon as your back is turned. Seriously.
So if you really want to make things happen, you have to write a country song and sing it on YouTube.
No, really.
This is Canadian singer Dave Carrol, with his band “Sons of Maxwell” performing their new hit single “United Breaks Guitars.” As you can probably guess, United Airlines smashed Carrol’s guitar on a flight to the US, and refused to make good on their damages. Although he could have pursued the problem beyond the one full year that they fought over it, Dave isn’t a fighter-he’s a singer. And when you mess with singers, well, they sing about it. On YouTube.
Supposedly United will now “make good” on the problem, although there is no mention of actually paying for the damn guitar. And just in case they don’t, Dave already has two more songs about his experience in the works. We can’t wait to hear the rest of the trilogy, preferably from the comfy leather seats of a somewhat more reputable airline.
