You could learn a lot from a dummy. And not just any dummies-today we’re learning from Vince and Larry!

These two crash test dummies come to life started their career as spokespeople for the National Traffic Safety Administration. The spots would feature the not-so-inanimate objects going through car accident after car accident, severing legs, arms, and sometimes even heads.

The silver lining for these two was the merchandising deals. They ended up with a Saturday morning TV show, action figures, a crash-em-up car for the action figures, and even a comic book. Their fame was enough to warrant bringing back several comedians from the dead for one last roast:
