Daily Roddin: Happy 55th Anniversary SBC!
2010 marks the 55th anniversary of the Chevy Small-Block Engine. This stunningly-restored example of an original 1955 Chevy small-block still sports the original “sock type” oil filter used when engineers, days away from releasing the innovative high-compression engine on the world, realized they had forgotten to make provisions for a screw-on filter. The “Sock Style” filter was a throwback to previous GM engines, making the move seem intentional to loyal Chevy customers.
