Daily Roddin’: Itsy Bitsy PT Cruiser
The PT Cruiser was a serious love-it-or-hate-it machine. The lovers formed tight, inclusive clubs, opened shops to modify and make parts for them, launched websites, wrote books, and even published a quarterly magazine, devoted entirely to the little car. The haters, apparently, worked at Chrysler. Instead of getting regular mechanical updates and styling refreshes, they tortured the car buying public with the Dodge Caliber, which came standard with the industry’s only Tallboy beer can cooler. And while the PT Cruiser passed away last summer, rest assured that its replacements are also dying somewhere, probably on the side of the road, twenty minutes after the warranty expired.
