Daily Roddin’: Marilyn Monroe’s 1952 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible

Marilyn Monroe's 1952 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible

According to legend, this 1952 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible was once the property of blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe.  How it came into her posession, well, that’s an interesting story.

When Marilyn Monroe’s star first began to shine, Ed Sullivan was interested in having her appear on the show.  Marilyn refused his every invitation until one fateful evening, when Ed Sullivan cornered Ms. Monroe at a party.  After much haggling, she agreed to make an appearance in exchange for a new car.  Ed Sullivan went out and bought this ’52 Caddy the following morning, and handed the keys over to Marilyn Monroe after her show appearance later that evening.  And while she went on to own fancier cars than this, it will always be her first car with the grace and elegance becoming of such a legendary cultural icon.
