Flea Markets, Car Dealers & Motorcycles, Oh My!

It’s a busy weekend on the car show scene, with four car shows in the Ottawa area alone–and don’t even get us started on the rest of the country!

Ontario:

Friday, May 27th is the first cruise night of the year for Woodstock, ON.  And although it doesn’t look all that organized at the moment, the folks behind it are hoping to make this a monthly event.  Head on down to wherever people cruise in Woodstock at 5 pm, and keep cruising ’till whenever.  For more info, call Diane at (519) 533.0909.

It’s also the first cruise night of the year for Shef’s Grill in Sheffield, ON.  It all gets underway this Friday (and every Friday after that) starting at 5 pm, and going to 8 pm.  There’s a BBQ, ice cream, music and dinner specials inside the grill.  Call (519) 620-7433 for more details, or head on down to 1100 (old) Highway 8 in Sheffield.

Sussman’s is really old–as in, 104 years old.  They’re celebrating this milestone with a family fun day and car show on Saturday, May 28th in Arthur, ON.  There’s also going to be a street dance, and entertainment all day.  For more info, call Michelle Campbell at (519) 364-2552.

Psssst:  Gumball!  The HASC-Muskoka Region is holding a Gum Ball Rally on May 28th.  It starts at 10 am from the Huntsville Canadian Tire store.  Anything with a motor is welcome, as long as you pay the $5 entry fee.  Proceeds will go to the Huntsville Hospice and Huntsville Memorial Hospital Dialysis Unit.  For more info, call Bert at (705) 789-2378.

The United Way of Lindsay, ON, is upping the stakes on the 28th with the Great Kawartha Road Cruise.  $60 gets you coffee in the morning, a tour of the Highlands Cinemas and Movie Museum in Kinmount, the Lilac Festival in Lindsay, and a stop at the Settler’s Village in Bobcaygeon, where you’ll get that Tragically Hip song stuck in your head all day.  There’s also a board game competition along the way for some great prizes, including a houseboat rental.  For more info, check out their website.

Toronto even has something this weekend, with the 6th Annua Wings & Wheels Heritage Festival at Downsview Park.  The event is spread out over Saturday (28th) and Sunday (29th), and features antique aircraft as well as antique cars.  All this is in addition to displays, vendors, exhibitors, family friendly activities, airplane rides, and more.  For more info, check out their website.

This is a bad weekend to set something on fire in Fort Erie this weekend.  Fort Erie Fire Co. #2 will be busy with their 3rd annual Bridgeburg Car Show in the old downtown.  There’s a 50/50 draw, dash plaques, door prizes, and a volunteer firefighter BBQ.  Check out their website for more info.

The Royal Canadian Legion in Niagra ON is holding their annual show & shine at 410 King Street in Niagra this weekend.  The show goes from 1 to 5 pm, and features a BBQ, door prizes, and music.  Contact Janet Abrahamse at (905) 468.2353 for more info.

Maplewood Park in Oxford Mills is giving it up to the 19th annual Special Interest Auto & Motorcycle Show on May 29th.  It’s a measly $4 to get in on a great day of awesome rides.  Contact Chris Bryant after 6:30PM at 613-989-3046 or cbryant (at) ripnet.com for more info.

Finally, the Annual Tifosi Summer Roll Out is invading Ottawa’s Little Italy district on May 29th.  The event runs from 11 to 4, with a great meal and prizes included in the festivities.  All proceeds go to support the Children’s Wish Foundation, so you’ll be cruisin’ for a good cause.  Contact Enrico Valente at (613) 720.4640, or evalente (at) videotron.ca.
