Mark your calendars: Brandon’s Road Rebels C.C. Gonna Party Down This Saturday!

As a fundraiser for two scolarships at Crocus Plains and the Elspeth Reid Family Resource Centre, the Road Rebels are having a social this Saturday, February 26th, at the Ukranian Reading Hall in Brandon.  For those of you not fortunate enough to have been born in Manitoba, a social is like a high school dance, but with booze.  Being that it’s a Manitoba tradition, there are two requirements:

1) A buffet consisting of pickles, cold cuts, and 3/4″ cubes of cheese with Rye bread must be served at midnight, and will be referred to as “lunch.”  This is (and I’m not making this up) a legal requirement by the booze nazis Manitoba Liquor Control Commission.

2) “Living on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi must be played at some point during the night.  If the DJ fails to play this, a lynch mob may form and take matters into their own hands.  In a pinch, a combination of AC/DC, Village People, Brooks & Dunn, and “Cotton Eyed Joe” (the ’90s dance version) may quell any uprisings.

There’s only 200 tickets, so don’t wait.  Contact Dave–roadrebels(at)mymts(dot)net–to get yours before they sell out.  And if you don’t want to support three great causes in exchange for cubed cheese, at least do it for Bon Jovi:
